Hello, my name is John Hill and welcome to where I collect my ideas. I am 41 years old and have lived and worked in the Austin/San Antonio area for the past eight years. Currently, I work at GVTC as an eCommerce and Communications Manager, as well as run a small custom furniture business, JMHill Designs.
Previously, I was in corporate leadership at Nielsen from 2006 – 2015 and the co-founder of the Cheers to Business podcast in 2016 (link). In 2015, my co-founder and I managed to produce 52 episodes with local entrepreneurs that ended up changing my life in all kinds of amazing ways. The knowledge I gained by having those long-form discussions had a profound impact on me and my passion for creating dynamic content.
Before getting into ecommerce and marketing tech leadership at Nielsen, I spent five years working my way up as a National Trainer developing new associates in consumer market research and segment data sampling. During that time, I graduated from the University of the Incarnate Wordwith a bachelors degree in science and then an MBA from Howard Payne University. In 2020, I was accepted to the University of Texas where I’m working towrds a MS in Data Science. Today, I spend the vast majority of my free time doing CrossFit, camping, hiking, reading and sorting through all kinds of old and new ideas. I live in New Braunfels, TX with my fantastic wife Stephanie and my awesome son Adrian.
